Terms of Use
The rules for using IceRank, including account use, community-signal integrity, original content, disclaimers, IceScore limitations, and future paid features.
1. Acceptance of these Terms
By visiting, accessing, signing in to, voting on, or using IceRank, you agree to these Terms of Use and the IceRank Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with these Terms, do not use IceRank.
2. What IceRank is
IceRank is a fantasy hockey research and rankings platform. IceRank provides prospect rankings, IceScore, NHL Path labels, Fantasy Signal labels, historical career-path context, probability-style outputs, player profiles, and related fantasy hockey analysis.
Additional lab features, such as scouting/voting tools, comparison tools, movement dashboards, or other research pages, may be tested, hidden, limited, changed, or added over time.
IceRank is provided for informational, analytical, fantasy hockey, and entertainment purposes only.
3. Independent platform
IceRank is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to the National Hockey League, the NHLPA, any NHL club, any league, any team, any player, any official statistics provider, or any official hockey body.
4. User accounts
Some IceRank features may require sign-in. IceRank currently uses Google Sign-In through Supabase authentication. You are responsible for the activity connected to your account and for using IceRank in a lawful, respectful, and non-abusive manner.
IceRank may restrict, suspend, or disable access to accounts that appear to violate these Terms, manipulate rankings, abuse site functionality, or create security or operational risk.
5. Age and permission
IceRank is not intended for children under 13. Users under the age of majority should use IceRank with parent or guardian permission.
6. Community signal and ranking integrity
If voting or scouting features are enabled, submitted player rankings may be used to calculate community signals, vote totals, ranking context, leaderboard signals, player movement, confidence indicators, and related IceRank features.
IceScore is IceRankâs blended ranking score. Community signals may support ranking context and related features, but IceRank may change how much those signals are used over time.
IceRank may review, remove, limit, discount, or exclude votes if they appear abusive, automated, duplicated, coordinated, manipulated, suspicious, or harmful to ranking integrity. IceRank may also adjust voting systems, weighting, cohort logic, ranking formulas, and eligibility rules over time.
7. Acceptable use
You may not use IceRank to:
- Attack, disrupt, overload, or interfere with the site or its infrastructure.
- Attempt unauthorized access to accounts, databases, private systems, scripts, or administrative tools.
- Manipulate votes, create abusive duplicate accounts, automate fake activity, or interfere with ranking integrity.
- Scrape, copy, harvest, or extract IceRank content or data at unreasonable volume.
- Reverse engineer private systems, ranking logic, protected endpoints, or non-public code.
- Impersonate another person or submit misleading, abusive, or spam activity.
- Use IceRank in a way that violates applicable law or harms the operation of the platform.
8. IceRank content and ownership
IceRank, IceScore, NHL Path labels, Fantasy Signal labels, site design, interface structure, ranking logic, community-signal logic, current or future tool names, original formulas, model outputs, player blurbs, confidence labels, probability labels, written explanations, and original analysis are owned by IceRank or its operator, except for third-party names, factual hockey information, official records, statistics, trademarks, and other materials owned by their respective rights holders.
You may use IceRank for personal fantasy hockey research. You may not copy, reproduce, repackage, resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit substantial parts of IceRank without permission.
9. Player, team, league, and statistical information
IceRank may use publicly available player information, including player names, ages, countries, positions, draft details, team references, league references, games played, and hockey statistics. IceRank does not claim ownership of underlying player, team, league, or official statistical records.
Player names, team names, team abbreviations, league references, and statistical references are used for identification, comparison, research, and informational purposes only. All third-party names, logos, trademarks, and marks are the property of their respective owners.
10. No guarantee of accuracy
IceRank rankings, IceScore, NHL Probability estimates, Core Probability estimates, Low Impact Risk estimates, outcome probabilities, confidence labels, player profiles, comparisons, development signals, player blurbs, and other outputs are estimates only.
IceRank may contain errors, outdated information, missing data, incomplete records, incorrect player details, or model outputs that change as data, votes, formulas, and ranking logic are updated.
11. No professional advice
IceRank is not an official evaluation source, professional scouting service, betting service, financial adviser, player agency, team service, or guarantee of future player performance. IceRank should not be treated as official scouting advice, betting advice, financial advice, or a promise that any player will reach a specific outcome.
12. Privacy
IceRankâs collection and use of account data, voting data, technical data, contact information, cookies, browser storage, and related information is described in the IceRank Privacy Policy.
13. Feedback and submissions
If you send IceRank feedback, suggestions, corrections, ideas, feature requests, bug reports, or other submissions, IceRank may use them to improve the site without owing compensation or credit, unless a separate written agreement says otherwise.
14. Changes to IceRank
IceRank may update, modify, pause, remove, or discontinue rankings, features, pages, formulas, data sources, player eligibility rules, model logic, voting systems, design, availability, or public outputs at any time.
15. Future paid features
IceRank is currently intended as a free platform. IceRank may offer paid features, subscriptions, sponsorships, premium tools, advertisements, data products, or commercial services in the future.
If paid features are added, IceRank may update these Terms with payment, renewal, cancellation, refund, subscription, and billing terms before or when those features become available.
16. Service availability
IceRank may be unavailable, delayed, incomplete, or interrupted due to maintenance, hosting issues, database issues, third-party service outages, bugs, data updates, security controls, or other technical reasons. IceRank does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service.
17. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, IceRank and its operator will not be responsible for losses, damages, claims, or decisions arising from use of the site, reliance on rankings or outputs, unavailable features, incorrect data, changed rankings, account issues, technical errors, or third-party services.
18. Account restrictions and enforcement
IceRank may restrict access, remove votes, disable accounts, block activity, or take other reasonable steps if a user violates these Terms, harms ranking integrity, creates technical risk, creates legal risk, or interferes with the operation of the service.
19. Governing law
These Terms are intended to be governed by the laws of Alberta and the applicable laws of Canada. Users are responsible for complying with the laws that apply to them where they access IceRank.
20. Changes to these Terms
IceRank may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to the site, features, legal requirements, data practices, business plans, service providers, or operational needs. Continued use of IceRank after updates means you accept the updated Terms.
